Wellness Revolution

When you dive into getting to optimum health and wellness you can take many approaches. Never being one dimensional with the decision to has always been the approach from my personal experience. One thing that I have always been a advocate of is taking the Divine given approach to health and that is doing the natural way! In some instances that makes it Revolutionary because you are going against what the system says! By system I am speaking of those companies that promise weight loss from taking a pill or using surgery as a means of dropping the pounds! Sometimes surgery maybe an only option if the situation is severe, but never the first line of defense when you want to get the pounds off!

Life Flow Wellness is officially jumping off a Wellness Revolution that will focus on taking on dis-eases head on! Its easy to talk about the problems that Americans face when it comes to taking care of our health and wellness, but its another thins when we become proactive and take on the problems!

Putting All of Yourself In

Many of us, from time to time, go through the motions of everyday life. We get up and begin our daily routines without any hesitation. Consequently, a lot of us proceed through our days that way. In the end we eventually create repetitious regimens that we get stuck with.

Well if any of that describes you, then this entry is for you! Life was not designed to be repetious and boring! You were created to fill a purpose! Many of us miss this because we let the obstacles of life get in the way of living.

Here are a couple of things you can do to change the outcome of a mundane life:
1. Make an intentional schedule of your day to day activities.
With this you can track your activity and see where your days
are getting off!
2. Get into an exercise routine! As a Team Beachbody Coach I
highly recommend this option! Getting into shape and
taking control of your health creates a new normal!
3. Get an accountability partner! This option works well with
point #2. Accountability partners a lot of times come in
many forms and they often end up being good long term
       relationships.
4. This is the most direct one, make the necessary changes cor you! Put your whole self into your day to day life and reflect on your direction! Become your own source of encouragement to make strides in this life! Your drive will increase once you find your purpose and passion!

Features and more....

It has been a minute since this blog was last updated and I apologize in for the absence. Let me start this entry off by telling you all who have been followers or readers of this blog thank you for your interest in what we offer as a health and wellness movement. The idea of Life Flow Wellness is all about encompasses more than just giving you all of the aspects of health and wellness, but we also serve as an source for building a foundation for a well rounded culture. A culture that exists with the pride of community, fruition of growth and maturity, and also the cultivation of raising a higher standard of class (raising the bar on normal).

My vision for creating this blog was so that health and wellness could be discussed on a broader scale and bring the public the truths of what is killing our communities. It is and has been proven over and over that communities are destroyed because ill thinking and ill will plague the mind of the people before the seeds that are planted can reach full maturity! Life Flow Wellness was founded to bring back that  focus of what it means to be whole, therefore we are cultivated in a holistic movement!

This is an ongoing initiative that won't take merely existing as the normal and will not rest until people are living! With the meaning of living we are aimed at seeing people live out their purpose and fulfilling the plans for their lives! That takes the vitality of life to accomplish and Life Flow Wellness is designed to support the community in this very effort!

We are looking for health and wellness success stories and we want to celebrate your accomplishments with you! So if you have any that you want to be featured just leave a message on our Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/pages/Life-Flow-Wellness/147378452010868

Latest Thoughts....

Hello Health and Wellness world! It has been a minute since I put anything up on this blog but a lot of thoughts on the brain. The mind is an interesting place... It allows you to go places you never thought possible. Some may have limited views on how far they can go, whether it be success driven or goal driven, some can't see beyond their circumstances.

I personally believe that when it comes to reaching goals and new levels you have to have a made up mind to get there. Its what I like to call "settled issues." Many people don't give into that notion and let negative thinking take them out of their walk. Walking towards better health means there will have to better choices made made in your eating and exercise regiment. Nay sayers will always be around to try and discourage and disdain the direction of the focused. So with the "settled issue" mentality you have by default made a clear path for you and your journey

After completing the Les Mills Combat journey I made my next program choice carefully. I wanted to put on muscle and I chose Body Beast. I am only a week and a half into the journey and it has already prove to challenging. I went from HIIT type workouts to an actual bodybuilding routine. I will get into details on that in another entry. I used that as an illustration to show that a made up mind will keep you when you are focused on your goals and in my case I want to put on muscle by the summer and Body Beast is going to get me there.

I know this entry was kinda all over the place but that is how my mind is focusing these days. The one take away from this entry is to have a mindset that has "settled issues". This keep you from having too many decisions to make!!!!

What's on your Journey?

As I sit and contemplate on the idea of being on a journey to better health and wellness, I always seem to veer back to the days that prompted me to begin in the first place. While in my college days I had little, if any, notion that I was living in complete disarray. My mind was the furthest thing away from living a life of wellness!

In my case I was knowledgeable of my family's history of high cholesterol, obesity, hypertension, and diabetes. All of these are some of the top dis-eases that plague the African American community. Even with the knowing I didn't do anything to be preventative. Taking for granted that I wouldn't become the next victim of these dis-eases walked me right into that trap. At the age of 27 I was diagnosed with high cholesterol and hypertension. Even with that being a reality I made moderate changes but nothing that would constitute a lifestyle overhaul.

Between being a student at Life University and landing in the lap of Team BeachBody , my eyes were opened to the world of health and fitness! While at Life University I began to learn what it was to walk in that lifestyle. Pretty much everyone on the campus lived by some kind of wellness regiment. Every aspect from veganism and vegetarianism to.professional natural bodybuilders existed. This influenced my thinking on holistic health a lot!

The hook for me getting into thr health and wellness industry came in the form of Team BeachBody. My first experience with BeachBody came through P90X. I lost a good bit of weight and even toned up some. After that I decided to become a Team BeachBody Coach because it provided me a lane to motivate people to get up and get to moving!

To make a long story short, this is the journey that allowed the vision of Life Flow Wellness to have life! If you are ready to begin a journey start with letting Life Flow Wellness become partner! You can begin by clicking on the Holistic Community link at the top of the page and creating a free account. By letting me become your Coach you are open to a motivating community that will walk with you on your journey!!!

Discipline: The Key to Real Change

Discipline is often described as training that corrects, molds, or perfects the mental faculties or moral character or control gained by enforcing obedience or order.  A number of people miss this concept when aiming to make changes in their lives. The concept of discipline is often mistaken as a word used to infuse punishment when on contrary it is the complete opposite! In fact the concept of discipline comes from a concept of wanting to have boundaries on areas that will keep you focused on your goals. Discipline is the direct result of focus and it prints the road map to get you to your goals!

So if you are gauged on setting some life changing habits, start with the concept of the theme of  DISCIPLINE!!! Making changes in workouts, nutrition, or lifestyle will point you to focus and discipline!!!

P90X , Have You Tried It?

Today's workout that we are featuring is one that is near and dear to me because it was the one that led me to become a Team BeachBody Coach. It is the one and only P90X! This workout is the best selling and most famous of the BeachBody workouts. P90X was developed as the follow up to Tony Horton's P90 series. The workout was designed to help you achieve maximum results in 90 days.

P90X is broken down into 12 different intense workouts. They use elements of cardio, resistance training, body weight training, yoga, ab work, and martial arts. There is also a nutrition plan included in P90X. The workouts get intense but they are not impossible. P90X is kind of equipment heavy unless you modify and use the resistance features. Even modification still provides great results!

CrossFit Phenomenon

Hello health and Wellness world! This week here at Life Flow Wellness we will be focusing on some different workout regiments. The first one we will be diving into is CrossFit. CrossFit was developed by a guy named Coach Greg Glassman. The regiment was developed over a period of decades. If you want to sum up what CrossFit is it can be described as "constantly varied functional movements performed at relatively high intensity" according to CrossFit.com. Some examples of CrossFit exercises are: kettle bell swings, clean and jerk, and ( probably the most popular) burpees. To learn more about CrossFit check out CrossFit.com.

Where Are You Now?

It seems most of us came into the New Year focused and ready to make those changes that will get us to the next level. Some us made commitments to saving money, some committed to getting in shape and living healthier, and others wanted to give up various things.

Well we are almost two complete months into the New Year and my question is "where are you now?" The fact is a lot of people get discouraged around this time of year and they give up on their goals. At this rate a lot of gyms become empty, income tax money is blown, and people go back to their old ways that they say they left in last year!

Here is a thought, "those goals that you have abandoned, they are still yours!" That's right, you own the rights to them. When you commit to something, in any form of fashion, you, by default, sign a mental contract. Once it is a done deal you owe it to yourself to see that obligations arr fulfilled. There are some things that were thought of that only you could accomplish for yourself. No one else can get shape for you or save your money for you! These are things, once accomplished, will give you a sense of ownership like nothing else!

So if you have fallen off of the wagon get back up! It's not too late to put those plans into action and make those changes you need to make for yourself!

Are you not Motivated?

Motivation is an interesting factor because it can come in so many forms for different people. The fact that motivation can occur in any circumstance or state makes it kind of a random event.

Well this entry is about the most obvious form of motivation and that is the one that comes from YOU! That's right you are can be an excellent source for your own motivation. Whether its getting up and exercising, eating healthier, or starting a new running regiment it all starts with you. The very reason you decide to commit to a  lifestyle change can be the very thing that keeps you motivated through the process.

It's great to have people in your corner to support you but there is nothing like being a self starter and your own cheerleader!

Fitness and Community

Hello health and wellness family! We all are tend to know generally what it means to be a community. What we don't utilize is the fact that in our communities are families that co-exist together. In other words we live life together. Fitness and health are vital in our communities. Many of us don't think about health, fitness, and wellness in the same setting as community. Life Flow Wellness was established to re-emphasize the importance of these values. Helping people to achieve optimum health and wellness is what this movement stands for!!!

Workout Regimen

I know everyone has had that feeling at least once, the one that you get when all you want to do is just drag around and do nothing. Well I can't speak for all but I know I have and it mostly came from me not working out or drinking enough water. Believe it or not these two things make a difference in how you feel. Your body was  created move and use kinetic energy.  Getting a workout regiment together doesn't have to be daunting task. Doing something as simple as walking, jogging, or yoga will get you going. While you are contemplating on what will fit you best drink up that H2O! The next few entries will be dedicated to some ideas on getting a regiment or exercise routine together.

The Elements!

Hello Health and Wellness world! Just got back in from a morning run in the cold! I must say that I love working out in the elements! Nature provides for some good surroundings to be productive in. Most people are afraid to get out in the cold and make something happen. The trick to not getting cold is to not think about it. Once you get going your body won't even notice it! Make sure you wrap up if the weather is not favorable in your community. Until next time keep striving for community and Supreme Health!!

What Kind of Legacy Are You Leaving Behind?

After thinking about what it means to leave a legacy behind it lead me to thinking you have to build something in order to leave something behind. A lot of people don't think about this in this context. Whether you are leaving a trust fund or property behind you have to build something to leave.

When it comes to our health and wellness this can be looked at the same way. A lot of families have been living with generations of health ailments such as diabetes, high cholesterol, hypertension, cancer,etc.... We have to begin to break these cycles of sickness and promote legacies of wellness! Our communities have been plagued with illnesses so long that we begin to accept it as the norm. You can almost bet that anyone you can have a conversation with in your community has one of the aforementioned or are linked to someone who is.

We have to begin to educate the masses on healthy eating, exercise, wellness, and rest. These elements are the arc of life sustainability in the natural. So its only natural that you put the right things into your body( fruits, vegetables, lean meats, whole foods, and water). I don't know how much it can be stressed that your body is a temple and should be treated as such!!! Educate yourself, your family, and your community so you can leave behind a legacy of health and wellness!!!

Wholeness

Ever wondered what it feels like to be whole or complete? I believe we all do at some point in time. This is a thought that has passed through my mind at a time or two.To be whole is to have all parts of your body functioning at optimum capacity. That means your mind, body, spirit and physical are all operating at the ideal maximum levels. That's right this is possible! Now for this to be possible you have to make sure you are focused what it takes to be whole. That en tales putting the right foods into your body, being rightfully connected to the Divine, building whole relationships, and getting good physical exercise. Reading a good book or enlightening manuscripts along with intelligent dialogue help the mind grow too!

New Year Check In

Hello wellness world!!! This is a check in to make sure everyone is up and moving! I hope everyone is getting the much needed exercise that the temple (body) requires. If you are not into the HIIT workouts (High Intensity Interval Training) you can do a few of the following: Walking for 30 minutes, Jogging (on treadmill or outside), Calisthenics using your own body weight, or yoga. Whatever you choose to do get up and moving! The body wasn't designed to sit still. Think about this, if you let a car sit up for a while, not cranking it or anything, the battery will die. Virtually every part of the car begins to rust away. Your body is the same way. If you don't give your muscles and your brain work they will gradually being to rust away like the parts on a car. So get up and get to moving!!!

Life vs Lifestyle

It seems that a lot of people confuse what it means to have a life as opposed to a lifestyle. The two in general conversation sound almost exactly the same, but they are totally different!
Let's start with what it means to have a life. Life is a characteristic that distinguishes objects that have self-sustaining processes from those that do not. Now with that being said life is about investing in those things that have "value". Life is something that is designed to continue on from one form to the other. You can choose how you live your life but know that life always involves the investment factor!

Now let's get into the lifestyle conversation. So we don't go wrong.on the content let me just say that term lifestyle is not a bad term. However, we get this term mixed up a lot. Lifestyle is portion of your life that you choose to live at particular moments. Lifestyles often involve material things, health and fitness adjustments, and other arrangements.

So you see life often encompasses lifestyle. To say that you are pursuing a holistic lifestyle is to say that you are pursuing life!!!
